M13     05-07-2005     Located some 22,000 light years away from Earth in the constellation Hercules, M13 is by far the most famous globular cluster in the Northern Hemisphere. This ball of over 100,000 stars spans some 100 light years across and contains some of the oldest stars in the universe. 12" LX200, ST10XME, RGB (6.6, 3.3, 3.3 minutes). Processed in MaximDL/CCD 4, Photoshop CS and Neat Image.
